Facebook analysis

I started a page called invest in you, which didn't really flourish the way I thought it would. I did realize, though, that this is a result of your eyes being bigger than your stomach, but not in terms of food!

What didn't work:

I felt as if the timing may have been a little off for me to start my page and give it all the TLC it needed. With the football season being at hand at the time I felt like I wasn't able to post at a high enough volume or invest enough passion and time behind what I was trying to do.

Posting statuses without any visual content, I noticed didn't get very much love or hardly any views at all.

The volume that I posted didn't really work either. I felt like had I posted at-least 4 times a week people would have received it better. I took the once or twice a week approach, and even sometimes not posting during the week and it didn't really work . I think if people constantly seen it popping up they would be more curious as to what it was they were looking at.

Advertising the way I did wasn't that effective. I cross referenced on my regular page a couple of times but not enough. Not enough to the point that people would know that it was even relevant.

What Did work:

Targeting the crowd that I was aiming for definitely worked, according to the stats. Most of the views of my page came through those in ages ranging from 18-24. They were the main ones looking at my page and being reached by the things that I posted!

Posting videos was a hit as well. Looking at my insights under the posts section, It showed that more people liked or viewed the videos more than any of the other posts.

Anything with a visual aspect, instead of simply words was viewed and successful on my page. Also If I shared a status or a quote from a celebrity or someone of prominence, it was viewed at a higher rate than that of my other posts.

Campaign Plan:

I felt like for the most part I followed through with my intended plan and motives for the page, though, there were times where I didn't meet my own criteria. My goal was to post motivating quotes, and videos about 4 times a week with the intentions of lifting people up and influencing them to keep pushing forward no matter how hard life gets, while keeping a solid backbone built of faith. I was only posting 2 times a week, and I wasn't posting an equal amount of videos as compared to photos and regular statuses. The plan was to not only post motivational photos and quotes, but to record motivational videos of myself , but I never got around to doing it. But in a lot of areas I do feel like I followed my plan, however; I do feel like with a little more time on the page and more preparation my page can become successful.

Self Evaluation:

I think this was definitely a cool experience, and a learning period on how to manage a page. I noticed that In myself, I wanted to do so much and really wanted to impact peoples lives, but I quickly learned that it takes time and a Valiant effort. I noticed that my focus on the page wasn't as equivalent as my passion for the page because I would be itching to post something and then my mind would go to a completely different place. I learned that this page, in fact can become very successful if advertised, and cared for the right way. I had the right mindset for the page, but I didn't have a lot of time. I am glad I did it because it taught me a lot, and I plan on continuing the page because I love inspiring people and introducing people to faith; not only on a social level but on a personal level as well.

Amsterdam and Miami! My contribution

When we started the project, we were throwing out Ideas on how to help Miami in some way and we were thinking of plans and someway to persuade people to use energy more efficiently and help the environment, so we came up with a Public relations plan/ App. I helped with this, and threw it out there because I watched a PR add for coke and is was very successful so I figured it would help this issue in the same fashion!

In our app we utilized the mane points such as equitable business, energy efficiency, low waste, preventable medicine, reduce carbon based fuel! There is a tag in the app that will take you to all of these different categories! Equitable business is aimed more at the colleges and universities wanting to get plans set in motion and completing initiatives. Energy Efficiency is aimed more at using waste as energy and using less energy. Low waste is to persuade people to recycle and like the last point, make use of waste! And the last one is to influence the people in Miami and all over to use bikes instead of cars to help protect the environment!
.

Another part of my research included researching the particular topic and issue in regards to energy efficiency with Amsterdam and Miami. Miami had a lot of plans that they wanted to get done but never got around to doing it, However; Amsterdam set a lot of plans in motion. In fact Amsterdam is trying to make the entire city a smart city and cutting back on the waste of energy. They have put 500 smart meters in homes around the city. The meters send back data and show how much energy was consumed, and based on how much is used, the meter shows how you can preserve energy and how to cut back on energy consumption and use it smarter. Amsterdam is committed to spending one-million dollars a year until 2017 to put smart meters in all homes in Amsterdam.

Automatic Attitudinal Response

I appreciated these on the media assignments because I was able to look at things from both sides of the spectrum and lay my own opinion on what I had observed. It was also unique to listen to the people on the podcast because they all had interesting opinions and thoughts on the issues of the week. The other bonus to these assignments is that I  was able to look at patterns and how I worded and expressed my opinions.

Playboy: I definitely had my own agenda going into this post. Looking back at it I didn't spill my whole heart out and or word it the way I really wanted to. However, I came into the post with a predetermined attitude in the category of supporting covering the models up, and maybe even getting rid of it permanently. I think I went in to it in such a way because it does affect me and it hits home, because before I decided to find God I was hormonal young man who was curious, and the way that stuff messed with my mind was something vicious. So coming into it I had already had a response before typing it up.

Kim Davis: I felt a certain way going in this post and I was pretty opinionated in doing so, especially because I had been talking about the issue several days prior building up my particular outlook. I am a Christian like Kim Davis, but I tried not to let that make me biased. After evaluating the story I realized that I do support her values and her faith and opinions, but the fact that she wasn't doing her job I didn't really agree with. I don't support Homosexuals, but I don't have anything against them or hate them, but she should probably be in a different profession. Coming into the post I had already made it up in my mind what stance I was going to take even before listening to On the Media. I just knew I was going to take the side of Kim Davis, which I did, but after carefully reading it I went about it in a different way and articulated it differently.

Political Pope: This post was dealing with the Pope and his visit to America and weather he is playing a role in the political race this year, in this upcoming election. This is one post I can say for sure I was certain and unwaivering in my stance. From  a spiritual stand point, and gut feeling point of view I just don't like the pope, not even a little bit. When I got to the portion that requires me to state my position and how I feel about the issue I did let my inner most feelings about him dictate how I responded and what I was going to post. I don't necessarily think that it is wrong, but I definitely felt emotional and it definitely struck me personally which led to my post.

Race Problem or Sin Problem: I remember this post like it was literally yesterday because I felt so strongly about it. I remember I got excited and also a little riled up because I have experience with the particular topic. I was almost going to respond off of pure emotion, that is until I watched that video, and in watching it I was able to get more in depth and not just look at it from my perspective but from a worldwide perspective, and that is what kind of steered me away from just stating the cliché "Black or White".  I had to move away from the emotional side and the learned opinions of so many people that have influenced me, and I had to see it from myself. That is why I said it is more of sin problem than a skin problem.  Attitudes like that are learned, and me with the background I have and growing up with a personal relationship with God I didn't look at from a strictly race driven issue, but I viewed it from a spiritual side and realized that the Devil has an influence on these people. That was the only way I could look at it without just posting an influenced post. The reason why these issues seem much worse than what they are is because of the way the media manipulates and distorts what the people are seeing. We truly only see what the media wants us to, or permits us to.

I chose these four posts in particular because I did notice that out of all of my posts I felt strongly about these and had predetermined opinions and outlooks on them. I appreciated this because I was able to go in and see where maybe I was biased, or unwaivering, or showed examples of attitudinal response. It might not be so for others, but I know for me personally an assignment like this kind of humbles me in a sense and makes you check yourself and ask the question, are these opinions really mine, or are they the voice and attitudes of and external influence? For the most part I felt like I posted rationally and with my own opinions, but there were definitely times where outer influences played a role in my response.

On the media: PlayBoy

Physical: Hugh Heffner created the playboy brand and playboy mansion in the early 1950's. The motivation for this is movement was to have woman modeling in the nude or sexually tempting cloths to basically entice and appease the thoughts of most men! Basically the beginning of sexual entertainment.

Psychological: Playboy gives some woman a false sense of awareness and reality when it becomes to beauty and confidence. The brand has kind of made woman feel or think that they have to look that way or present themselves that way in order to be beautiful or attractive. It kind of alters the perceptions of men as well, because as men some of us see theses woman and expect the woman we talk to, to look like that and act like that

Cultural: Sexualizing woman has been apart of our culture for a long time now, and playboy isn't the only company to dive into it. The internet is even worse if not the same thing! Now a days Sex has become something important or something that seems to be a necessity now and more for recreation than love!

Social: Playboy has been the medium for nude woman and half naked woman for the longest time, so now that they are covering up these woman it has become a huge social epidemic and to some it is a catastrophic event and blasphemous. The company could potentially lose money because of this change in tradition and that scares a lot of people.

Temporal: This magazine is and was the front-runner for all magazines and things of its kind and everybody wanted to be as successful as Playboy and now someone else may take the top spot because playboy has changed the tradition.!

I don't think Playboy is a good thing regardless, but I do think its better that they are covering up the woman, though, they shouldn't be doing it all. I think that they may lose a lot of support and popularity because of this, but it could remain the same because of the respect Hugh has in the industry as a sex mogul! I think that they should do away with it just because of how it can rot the minds of young men, because before I got saved I know how it used to mess with my mind and how it affected my thought process and it is not good at al because you're not focused on what's important and you have an unrealistic expectation of woman and what a woman should be like. Close the center folds and open up a bible!

Climate well informed: Never payed attention!

I remember watching the debates with George bush and Al Gore as a kid and I remember not seeing Al Gore for a little while after that! When I did finally see him again he was talking about climate change and the effects of global warming! He was always warning us about the polar ice caps melting and water levels potentially rising to catastrophic levels. Based off what I remember I was kind of concerned, but it didn't really bother me because I think I was too young to really even care! But now As I have gotten older I have started to see the changes with the climate, the weather, and the environment!

I have lived in Utah my whole life and I have never seen rain or storms quite like the ones that occurred here this summer! I have never seen lightning strike so close. This summer the lightning was absolutely crazy and almost striking in the city. Just last night on the way back from Salt Lake, the rain was absolutely horrendous and blinding. I have never seen anything like this in my history of living here. The lightning was literally lighting up the whole sky striking near the apartments, and then all of a sudden you have tornados hitting in Colorado, when has that ever happened? But away from the weather I have noticed that it is constantly getting hotter and the winters aren't as cold as they have been. Like last spring in St George; it was kind of cold but not ice cold, that is until it started snowing, and not a little bit of snow but a whole bunch of snow hit in St George. So I do support the idea that the climate is changing, but from a spiritual aspect I think all of these changes are apart of Gods plan and the front runner to the final day of judgment!

Hmm. . . Here is an interesting video from Bill Nye

Well Informed: religion 3.0 Be spiritual not religious?

Religion can be defined as a belief, worship or praise to a higher power or personal God. In recent months religion has been in the center of everything that has been going down in the word; the most prominent at the moment are Christians and Muslims. You have the issue with Kim Davis and homosexuals, and then you have the pope coming to America as if he is a rock star, and then you have attacks by radical Islamic groups carrying out destructive attacks. In the midst of all of this I have noticed it has caused people to hate religion all together because now absent minded people generalize all people of faith and or particular religions as pushy and basically terrorists. There are so many different religions out there now a days, you have Mormons, Christians, Muslims, Baptists, Jehovah witnesses etc. . . so you can see why so many people are confused and turning away from religion because so many religions are trying to tell everybody they are wrong instead of trying to bring people to truth.

The one thing I have noticed about religions in this modern day is that they are trying so hard to promote their religions and market why their religion is the only truth, but they forget what is really important, and that is Jesus Christ. That's just it, hes the answer, the explanation, and the all of it. If you aren't preaching Jesus but claim to follow God then you are not abiding in truth! To know the father is to know the son and to know the son is to know the father (Matt 11:27). The media has a huge grip on the minds of people when it comes to religions, especially Christianity. The media often portrays Christians, as all hypocrites, hateful, judgmental, gay haters, and do as I say not as I do people. There are people like that, but those people are not Christian. A Christian is someone who knows that they are weak and leans on the Lord, and a Christian strives everyday to live like Jesus, showing love and compassion.

The worst about this is that we (Christians) are made out to be "Homophobes" and people who hate homosexuals. That is not true at all. As I stated before if you do hate those people you are not a Christian. I Know for a fact that I don't hate them I actually love them, but I just don't agree with the way that they choose to live. I understand that the hypocrites give Christians a bad rep but it is not fair to generalize all in that same category.

Spiritual not Religious: I think religions is good because it keeps your morals and values in check. It is a good way keep you in line, but also a good way to keep you honorable towards God, but it can be a negative as well. I don't like religion or religious people at the same time because religious people were the same people that killed Jesus. What do you mean religious people Darius? I am talking about the people that want to be seen openly praying, being seen in high places, practicing a ritual, and living holy only on Sundays like most pastors, bishops and church leaders today. If Jesus was walking the earth today (he is alive and well) the people would crucify him again because he didn't obey the religious rules that man had set but he obeyed the words of the father!

This brings me to my next point in that people have twisted religion from what it was originally founded on and have turned it into a fleshly thing instead of its original form which is spiritual. "Those that worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth," (John 4:24). To me that is why so many people have it wrong because they are leaning to their own understanding instead of leaning on the Lord for wisdom and knowledge (Proverbs 3:5-6) because if you are not in tune spiritually it is impossible to please God and move in the right direction. An example of this is racism in churches. In the LDS church black people weren't allowed to hold a man given priesthood until the 70's which to me sounds like God was racist up until the 1970's which is false because God doesn't work that way. This is an example of being in the flesh and not in the spirit because anybody that has any type of holy ghost knows that the spirit would never condone that.

Conclusion: When you look at religion through the eyes of flesh you see religion as having no power, being bound by rules, and many other factors but if you do in truth and in spirit there is absolute freedom because where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty ( 2 Corinthians 3:17). God is so loving that hey gave us the gift of free will to either serve him or go our own way! I am a Christian but not based on the title of my religion but by the way I live my life; Christianity is a way of living and a fun lifestyle to live at that. Being in a religion doesn't mean you have to walk around serious and dead all the time, but instead it should bring joy and happiness. don't let the media fool you in the way it presents religion because it can fool you into resenting God. Anybody can tell you one way is the truth but only God can show you the true way.

Well informed: Privacy 2.0

Privacy is defined in simple terms as a person who secludes themselves and information about themselves, from people and selectively express themselves. I didn't research an article but I did skim read here and there and based off information and settings I have observed. Privacy inst what it used to be. Now a days the things that you think are private really aren't though they look and seem as they are. I like to look at social media, and technology when it comes to this particular topic.

Social media websites are supposedly meant to keep particular information about you private, and sharing with those what you want to be shared about yourself, thus somewhat fitting the true definition of privacy. You can post whatever you want to social media, especially Facebook, but at the same time you can't because someone is always watching. Though you shouldn't be posting negative things anyway, if you do an employer or someone who holds your fate in the workplace may come across something by accessing your social media profile and see something that they don't like which can lead to being dismissed from the job, suspension, or even a pay cut but either way it just doesn't seem really private to me. Now I definitely support someone who doesn't want a person doing unethical things on social media, or speaking out against the company to work for me either, but on the logical side, at-least from my perspective, that proves to me that social media isn't that private. I really noticed this with the NCAA because they are constantly monitoring everything you do as an athlete. They monitor your social media accounts what you do outside of football and a multitude of other things. As a student athlete you are constantly on your toes because one slip up can get you booted so at the end of the day there really is no real privacy, which is strange given the fact that we are not paid but students first.

Technology is also something that invades privacy. As humans we have the right to be private and not put all of our business out there. With the new smart phones privacy has kind of become not as important or non-essential I guess! Phones are always tacking your whereabouts and I have watched a few videos about how some of our phone calls are being recorded by the government, and I am not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I believe this to be true that the government knows where we are at all times. Things that we search, talk about, and post on social media are always constantly floating out there though they were supposed to be deleted. And now a days it is so easy to steal someones identity it starts to make you question if privacy is real at all. How is it possible for these people to access your information if we have privacy?

Here is a video that I found about privacy!

On the media: Politician pope

Physical: The pope came to America to come and speak to those that follow him, support him, and people in high places. This was in a sense historical because only three popes in history have come to America to speak. Social media, as always when something big happens, ate this up with all of the hashtags and millions of tweets about Pope Francis. Every time you turned on the television you would, and still do see the pope.

Psychological: People view the pope as an important, powerful, and awesome figure, so with the news that he was coming to America it made almost the whole nation fall on their face in amazement. Especially those that do look at him as a religious intercessor, they felt especially privileged almost as if the pope being here would bless America in some way. People were gathering by the masses just to see him and hear him speak, even traveling from across the country just to catch a glimpse.

Social: Obviously in a situation like this words can be twisted, and the story can be told the exact opposite of what really happened. The fact that this epidemic was so big on social media made it that much bigger and exclusive in real-time. With all of the news and media outlets you can be influenced to believe that the pope plays a pivotal part in this upcoming election, or the opposite that he is just a man here preaching peace and acceptance, either way social media, and media in general have a way of contorting and blurring the vision and perceptions of the media consumers, and in this case there is a lot of twisted logic and confusion in regards to the popes real intentions as far as him visiting America.

Culture: At this point and in this particular instance cultures and opinions are definitely going to collide especially the opinions of Liberals. Somewhere along the line something the pope said sounded like, "let all immigrants in." at-least to them that's what it sounded like. Listening to certain people they make it seem as if the pope is just coming in peacefully and being made out to be a victim or being looked at in a false light.

Temporal: This story comes at a perfect time, or has perfect timing in my eyes. In the same week the blood moon occurs, Donald trump running for president, and this "holy man" visiting America. I don't think that this story will die out to be honest, I think that the pope is going to be in the public eye for quite some time and continue to have an influence on America. This isn't going to be your average rise and fall type of story.

My Stance: Listening to on the media, they made some good points and good arguments, but I don't necessarily agree with all of those points. When I see the pope and how he has been portrayed, and how he has portrayed himself in the media, he seems like an undercover politician, and a slick talker. He often says things that people don't catch. And from a religious standpoint he never really mentions Jesus, but he did mention that Jesus failed on the cross. He has an influence on America already because he has conformed to the generation. I think that he will continue to have an large influence on America and a large say after a while. From a spiritual standpoint I don't really feel comfortable with him and I feel like he is setting people up very subtly and smoothly.

Democracy 2.0: "Running Game"

In a nutshell democracy is supposed to stand for freedom. In the world we live in today there is no real freedom, especially in regards to polotics and voting. Do we really get who we want? Does our vote really count. When I turned 18 years old it was awesome because it was legal for me to vote, and ironically enough there was an African-American man running for president and he actually had a legitimate chance of winning. As a young black man, seeing that is monumental. Voting came back on me negatively though, because people were jumping all over me assuming that I only voted for Obama because he is black, and I was called racist and what have you! him being black was only part of my voting choice, the other half being because in my eyes he was a good candidate.

After voting, I learned to hate it, and have been kind of persuaded to not vote in this coming election. The reason being is because of the way presidents run game on the people, and how the people don't support particular presidents. Observing and listening to people the last 8 years I've come to the conclusion that Obama had seldom support, from the government down to the average citizen. No matter what he tried to do even if it benefited the country, people still tried to find the negative in what he did, and I find it hard to give the country what they want if they wont even let you do that. Nobody, however; speaks about the not so good presidency George Bush had, and in my opinion he put Obama in a whole that has gotten deeper and deeper.

Running Game: I am not super knowledgeable when it comes to politics, but I am not dumb, nor am I naive; I like Obama, but I've come to see that maybe he isn't all he fronts to be hence the bold words running game. The thing I didn't like about Obama and don't like is how he compromised to gain votes. He claimed to be a christian, but then I see him sacrificing his "christian" values by supporting gay marriage, and abortion. there have been many presidents with christian based values that never passed laws like these for the hope of votes, running game comes in because when I first voted for him he didn't even come off that way. I like Obama but I don't like and support everything he does and has done.

This next election I don't think I will be voting for anybody because to me it is a joke with the people we have running to lead our country. Hillary Clinton: I cant vote for her because she will literally do anything (not a good thing) to become president and personally, I just feel like she is a woman scorned and when she gets in the white house trouble is right around the corner, and I just flat out feel that she cant run a country. Any other woman except Hillary. Bernie Sanders: I like him, though, I don't support everything he believes, he seems like a good candidate, but I don think he stands a chance. Ben Carson: This guy kills me, when questions are asked about regards to the black community hes always almost trying put us down and act like we are the whole problem, he almost doesn't even acknowledge it at all. He literally said, "racism didn't really exist 150 years ago and nobody cared until Obama became president". That is probably the dumbest thing I have hear and to me hes another game runner conforming to popular opinion to look sophisticated and gain votes. And lastly, Donald Trump: This guy is a clown and a reality T.V. star. You cannot run a country like the celebrity apprentice. If he is elected president this country is going to fall, and fall hard on its face. In my opinion all minorities should look out if he wins. Bill Clinton to me has been the best we have had, but sadly we cant get him back.

In conclusion I think that God needs to play a pivotal part in the running of this country, and I know some don't agree with that, but if we lean on God to make choices it will always be the right one. America has gotten away from that and is trying so hard to push God out, and until we let him in this country will always be bound by its people and its ways. It doesn't say in God we trust just to say it, it actually means something. The men that put it there were convicted in their hearts. My thoughts on politics and voting,

On the Media: Migration Memes.

PHYSICAL: For a little bit of time now, there have been people creating pretty racy memes in regards to refugees, ISIS, and former ISIS members. The memes make fun of Syria, and the issue involved with the country almost as if it is a joke. Now with theses memes out it starting to strike fear into people and keeping them on their toes, almost making it seem as if anybody that looks like these people is a terrorist and threat.

PSYCHOLOGICAL: People in Europe, and people period are already afraid of terrorists as it is so having a feeling of uncertainty is only adding to the madness. There are also pictures included that show these particular people in their fighting apparel and showing the same people in normal clothing almost looking like your average refugee. I'm not to sure why this is being seen as a joke or being taken lightly but lives are at stake, and the well being of many.

SOCIAL: People are fleeing by the thousands because of what is going on in their home land in look of safety and comfort. However, the issue is will their be enough living space and means for these people and if they are really refugees or terrorists in disguise.

CULTURAL: Other countries are kind of at a stalemate at the moment because they are not sure if it is the right thing to do, or if it can be potentially detrimental to the safety and well being of their people. A lot of European countries already have struggles of their own daily and as whole, so something like this can actually make matters worse, which is why I think the countries want to help but still have that little itch telling them it could be a risk.

TEMPORAL: The story has been around for about a month now on the news and social media, and now the rise of memes for the past few weeks on almost every social media sight.

I can definitely understand why people would be on edge in this situation, because if you only pay attention to the media, it would cause to think that your country could be victim to an attack. It is scary when you come across a picture of someone who was in a terrorist type uniform, and then you also see that same person looking like a refugee. As I stated earlier it would be hard to decide whether you are taking a risk or making an ethically good decision. Secondly, I feel like an issue like this shouldn't be turned into a humorous meme because people are actually suffering and its just not right make that into something that isn't taken serious.

Well Informed 2.0: Learning (Culture)

Learning is defined as the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience or skills, or by being taught. I couldn't really think about what to talk about and there really wasn't an article that I wanted to read, but what did cross my mind in regards to learning was music and the lyrics behind it; actually a particular song. There is a song by Dizzy Wright called the first agreement that is talking about particular cultures lack of knowledge in regards to themselves and their own. The lyrics go as such, "I heard if you want to hide something from a N*&&@ the best way to do it is to put in a book. The Idea behind this set of words is that African American people don't read enough books, or find it necessary, therefore if you want to keep something from them involving their history, etc... Put it in a  book because they wont look for it there. I  noticed the whole song just revolved around learning and educating yourself because nobody else will do the educating for you. The intro also give a brief description of what knowledge comes from the word! Meaning the knowledge you gain from a wise word or the word of God. As Americans period we are constantly learning new things simply by observation. I learn a lot of things through observation such as my skill of drawing, dancing and playing football if I see it I can learn it very fast.

My Position: I agree with his statement in those lyrics in regard to limiting your own learning or inhibiting your own knowledge. I have noticed that within my own community, that people don't know anything about their history or past or factors that really do matter to them all because they refuse to read and or educate themselves. I love reading and I have grown so much from reading and researching, and I have learned a lot of new things and gained knowledge especially about African American history. Most people wouldn't even Fredrick Douglas was half white, or that before slavery Black people were kings and queens and pharos of empires like Kush. Learning and understanding is important because you will always have an answer for any question or topic brought your way. If learning isn't apart of your livelihood diet  you will continue to still make the same mistakes and dumb choices because you refuse to learn.

On the Media Kim Davis

Physical: A woman by the name of Kim Davis was locked because she refused to issue a marriage license to a homosexual couple as a registrar and county clerk. After being jailed for a bit of time, she was finally released but there is still plenty tension and lack of understanding regarding the situation. The real debate now is that, although there is freedom of religion is it ok to do what Kim Davis did!

Psychological: Now homosexual marriage is legal, and she is a firm Christian who is speaking out against them, now in the minds of a lot of people it seems as if she is trying to supersede the law and the supreme court. Is it really freedom of religion or speech if she is being jailed for it?

Social: Homosexuality is now an accepted thing in the world and has a very felt presence where-as religion is still an important factor but is slowly being minimized by the day. There are plenty of people who do not agree with the issue as well as there are many that agree with what is going on. One is socially acceptable and the other is not but it is different for everybody. Was anybody harmed in this regarding their rights?

Cultural: Two cultures are really clashing here so it is somewhat difficult to decipher which culture is influencing more or what culture has a bigger or less influence. On one hand you have someone who to some is putting her beliefs above the law, and then you a have a group of people who feel that their rights have been violated.

Temporal: This debate has been going on for quite some time, a couple of weeks I believe, and what gives the issue so much edge or prominence over other social issues is that it's happening right after homosexual marriage was legalized so there is going to be friction in this particular instance. This happened at the wrong time, but some people may see it as the wrong time.

I agree with what Kim Davis did. I think she may be in the wrong profession, especially with the beliefs that she has. I agree because I put myself in her shoes and I myself am a follower of Jesus Christ. As a Christian I feel that we have an obligation to the Lord to stand for what is righteous in his sights. I have absolutely nothing against homosexuals, but I do not agree with their choice of lifestyle. I believe she felt she would be going against God had she supported that. I understand that there are laws of the land that we must obey legally but God's word trumps the law in these type of circumstances. As a Christian I believe that she felt like, "Obey the lord, or conform." I understand that they do have their rights, but so do religious/spiritual people and we should be able to speak our minds without consequence.

The commentator on, on the media had a few insightful points that he made, but It didn't sway me; now it is her job to issue those licenses, but then again it is also her job to please and honor the lord. The thing that kills me about this particular topic and issue is that people throw the word homophobe around like water at people of faith. Phobia is a fear of something, and as Christians I know that we don't fear it we just don't agree with it or support it but we still love the people.

Mission: To motivate people spiritually and bringing them to the realization that self love is key to success. Invest in you and God will see you through.

Communication objectives: The main goal of this page is to uplift and motivate people to push through that trial or test that seems to hard to get through. Secondly, to let people know that God will see us through regardless of the situation as long as we work diligently in all things. If you love yourself it becomes easy to love and appreciate God more. lastly, letting people know that a relationship with God is important in succeeding.

Audience:

Jonathan: He is Sophomore in college who is dealing with low self-esteem and the load of college life. He is a Christian, but he doesn't know the bible very well and doesn't understand how to deal with stress or how love or believe in his-self. He's been looking for spiritual motivation online and anywhere he can; he comes across this page titled "invest in you" and he sees a scripture and a quote that is speaking directly to his current situation and it gives him the motivation and will to first believe in himself and to also move forward. He now realizes that God is able and that he can overcome any obstacle.

Christopher: Chris is a high school athlete who thinks he has everything planned out because of his athletic ability and his status in the school. In his mind he thinks basketball is the only thing he can do, convinced that it will last forever. Chris gets hurt in the second game of his senior year which forfeits all of the scholarships he was offered. Now seeming hopeless Chris had nowhere to turn and was really on the verge of giving up. Chris came across the invest in you page and seen a passage that caused him to regain his hope. Chris constantly reads this page looking for spiritual strength and motivation to carry on. He didn't give up and recovered from his injury and earned a scholarship after walking on to a team.

Madison: Madison is an atheist and also very anti-social. It is impossible for her to find joy and become friends with anyone. Anybody that talks to her about Jesus or tries to motivate her is rudely turned away. Madison is as stubborn as a mule , but most of her friends on social media keep sharing posts from the invest in you page and as much as it keeps bugging Madison she figured that maybe if she told her friends she would read the page they would leave her alone. So she finally starts reading the page and tries her hardest to disagree and discredit everything she is seeing. As much as she tries to be hardnosed about it, the page continuously chips away at her rough exterior and makes her believe in God more and more, and she is becoming more social, though she does not fully believe yet the page is constantly working at her and she is believing more and more everyday.

Race problem or a sin problem? Well Informed

I loved this video especially vs. other research mediums. The reason being is because there are no biases, but instead it is straight facts and historical evidence and modern evidence to back his claim. The facts he gave in regard to poor white Americans was astonishing as well seeing that they as well are mistreated by not only law enforcement but by the rich elites in the world. It was really surprising to see that 49 of the richest people in the world were still richer than 149 million!

He also made the claim that the police force, especially in racially tense situations is very militarized. There is no keeping peace or weathering the storm it's aggressive and authority hungry action which often makes the situation worse. The media doesn't help this issue either because there are certain people who run our news stations and control what we hear and what information we are allowed to see which escalates the situation and gives people a premeditated perception of the issue without even really knowing what the cause is or what it stands for. A prime example of that is the saying "Black Lives Matter" because people take it out of context and don't even know what it means.

I have dealt with racial profiling and stereotyping my whole life growing up in Salt Lake City. One incident in particular occurred when I was around 12. Me and my brother had gone to the hospital to visit my dad while he was at work. As we left the hospital I  noticed two police officers slowly following me and my brother and it instantly made me nervous, so the officers stop us as we're walking and he asked why were in the area and we told him to see our dad. He didn't believe my dad worked in the hospital, so he asked again and we told him 2 more times. After that he asked where we lived we told him, "right down the street" and he and his partner still didn't believe us, so they kept asking us and we kept telling him we've lived in this city for our whole lives and they finally got to the point, and said "well, two HISPANIC  men stole a car from this hospital today and you two fit the description. me and my brother were small 12 year old kids and we are black we don't look Hispanic at all or like grown men at that.

Racially mistreatment by police is a very real epidemic, and the government isn't really trying to help especially by putting mostly African Americans in these low income areas and rundown ghettos and fighting harder to keep them there than to pull them up. I look at these issues from more of a spiritual side because regardless of race we are all brothers in sisters with the same color blood running through our veins. Yes police are being brutal, yes racism is really, yes inequality is real, but it all falls back to sin. If you don't have the love of God in you, or Love Jesus Christ at all, it is impossible to love your fellow man and brother or sister. In my eyes the real reason for all of this turmoil is people letting the devil take advantage of them causing their hearts to be hardened.

On The Media: Thoughts on the Little Pink Pill

I would like to focus on the issue regarding the "little pink pill" or the new drug known as female Viagra. It catches my attention because it is a lot like and as a matter of fact is like the popular phenomenon plaguing social media today, and that being equal rights.

Listening to the story it was evident that some woman felt it wasn't right that men had a drug that helped with sexual dysfunctions and woman didn't; to me it sounds a lot like the debate that woman don t have the same opportunity as men. What interesting was what the sources had to say about the drug especially about the false advertisement. They claimed that 26 different drugs were approved for men when really only 5 or 6 were approved. She also pointed out that the idea or pill was sold for a large sum of money shortly after it was proposed or presenting kind of giving off the vibe that this is a political stunt or a call to the feminists instead of actually trying to help theses woman that had these sexual short comings.

Brooke actually mentioned that the drug itself may not be as helpful as these people assume because of natural causes. She pointed out that as woman get older, and are in a long enduring relationship their sexual desire and sometimes even libido can be affected due to that. With this particular situation I feel like there is definitely a lack of Civil Discourse. It seems like people are trying to push the drug just to say that woman are on the same playing field as men and have the same type of products. I agree that it is more of a political stunt more than anything. From what I observed in listening its almost as if the overlords that created the product don't really care about fixing these problems in woman but instead are trying to sell a product and one up the opposition.

The Physical aspect of this is the woman actually taking this pill to boost sexual moral and falling into the placebo affect, by actually making themselves believe it because of marketing.

The psychological part is the placebo affect itself in willing yourself to believe that it works although there are no real results, and believing something just because it is new and mainstream.

The cultural element is the fact that there are so many stereotypes out there regarding sexism and inequality amongst men and woman. That's what I got from it and that seems to be the underlying issue that men  have a sexual enhancer and woman do not.

Social is the buzz that the pink pill is getting around the world and the huge community of social media users. And the experiment they ran with woman who consume alcohol to prove f the drug really worked.

Temporal: It was brought forward at a vulnerable time where equal rights is at the top of the food chain, especially amongst men and woman.
